South African artist serving as university's current artist-in-residence

Northwestern visual arts program Artist-in-Residence Mandy Messina works on a piece of art that may be on display at the Graceful Arts Center for the First Friday Art Walk on March 3.

Mandy Messina, a South African artist now living and working in Oklahoma City, is serving as the Northwestern Oklahoma State University visual arts program artist-in-residence. She began her residency Jan. 17 and will remain here through February.

Messina is developing a body of work in the Jesse Dunn Art Annex, Room 323, and has been assisting Kyle Larson, assistant professor in art, in teaching visual arts courses and providing feedback to visual arts students.
