In Woods County filing for city offices last week, races developed for two Alva City Council seats. Freedom has two candidates for town clerk. Waynoka has two city council seats contested. The election will be April 4.

Monday through today, Feb. 13-15, two other Alva City Council seats were open for filing. Those were delayed a week because of timing on paperwork. As of 2 p.m. Tuesday, only one filing had been received. Mary Hamilton who was appointed to the council recently has filed to keep her Ward 3 Seat 2 position for the remaining two years of the term.
