A third race has developed for Alva City Council seats in the April 4 municipal election.

A special filing period was held this week, Feb. 13-15, for two council spots for two-year unexpired terms. Brandon Sherman, who was appointed to Ward 2 Seat 2 after a resignation, was the only one filing for that position.

Two people have filed for the Ward 3 Seat 2 office. Mary Hamilton, who was appointed to that position, and Roger Hardaway, a former city council member, have both filed for the seat.
