Koppitz signs to Rodeo at NWOSU

February 17, 2017

Cole Koppitz, AHS senior, inks with the Northwestern rodeo team. His parents, Jil and Marty Koppitz, and Northwesern Rodeo coach, Stockton Graves, look on in support.

Alva High School senior Cole Koppitz signed to the Northwestern Oklahoma State University Rodeo team Wednesday, Feb. 8, alongside his parents. Koppitz participates in team roping and calf roping and will be a key member of the rodeo team.

Koppitz, who grew up on a farm, has been riding for a very long time. His dad got him into the sport in the first grade; his dad competed in rodeos in high school, college and after college, and he wanted to keep it in the family.

Koppitz has always worked hard at everything he does with the occasional goofing off, but everybody who surrounds him is always in for a good laugh when they are with him. Alva High School wishes you the best of luck, Cole!
