The Alva High School Ladybugs hosted rivals the Woodward Lady Boomers on Tuesday night for their final game of the regular season and Senior Night. The Ladybugs had already faced the Lady Boomers once this season in Woodward and were hoping to get some payback for their seven-point loss, 43-50.

Alva senior Whitney Randall put on a show for her final regular season scoring 14 of the Ladybugs' 17 points in the first quarter. Despite Woodward getting as much as a seven-point lead over Alva, Randall sent the Ladybugs on a 7-0 run off two jumpers and a trey to tie the game at 14-all. Alva's Jordan Shiever – who had been out due to back pain – closed out the first with a made free throw and a contested bump to lead Woodward 17-16 going into the second.

It was a back-and-forth match-up in the second quarter with scoring coming from four different Ladybugs as Alva started to find their rhythm on offense. The Ladybugs went on another 7-0 run midway through the second as Lexie Shafer hit the putback off her own miss followed by two free throws from Payton Jones. Cathy Mapes closed Alva's run by burying the corner three to put the score at 27-21.

Though Woodward was able to get back within two points of Alva's lead. The Ladybugs were able to close out the first half leading the Lady Boomers 30-27.
