Drug possession charge filed against Alva man

A traffic stop for a defective light led to charges against a passenger for illegal drug possession. Charges were filed against the driver, Johnny Briseno, the day after the traffic stop back in October 2016, but the charges against the passenger weren’t filed in Woods County District Court until Feb. 9, 2017.

Nathan Tyler Ross, 28, of Alva has been charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance (methamphetamine), a felony. This crime is punishable by imprisonment for up to five years and a fine of not more than $5,000. His bond was set at $15,000, and his next court appearance is...
