SAN ANTONIO (Feb. 20, 2017) – Sophomore Juan Pallach led Oklahoma Christian on Monday on the opening day of the Eagles' spring golf season in south Texas.

Pallach fired a 4-over-par 76 in the Rattler Invitational at The Dominion Country Club and was tied for 36th in the 86-man field, eight shots behind the individual leader, Joaquin Arguelles of Dallas Baptist (Texas).

OC stood 14th in the 16-team field after posting a team score of 312. The Eagles, who combined for five birdies, trailed the team leader, Henderson State (Ark.), by 22 shots. OC will enter Tuesday's final round only seven shots outside the top 10.

Weather delays caused tournament officials to shorten the event from three rounds to two, as players weren't able to start until noon on Monday.

Junior Eric Hill was the Eagles' No. 2 player, shooting a 78 on the 6,937-yard layout, and was tied for 56th. Sophomore Ethan Smith and freshman Michael Robinson each shot a 79 and were tied for 59th, while sophomore Ryan Trousdale's 81 left him tied for 68th.
