Henderson State opened the 2017 golf schedule winning the Rattler Invitational in San Antonio, Texas on Tuesday.
The Reddies turned in a 36-hole total of 582, 6-over par to win the 16-team event by four shots over second-place Texas A&M-Commerce.
Western New Mexico finished in third-place with a 588 team total, followed by Northeastern State (598), with No. 18 Central Oklahoma and No. 36 St. Edwards tying for fifth-place (601). Great American Conference opponent Southwestern Oklahoma, ranked 30th, finished in seventh-place with a final score of 603.
