Gaisford explains new hospital program to council

Alva City Inspector Randy Goucher give the city council an update on plans for dilapidated housing. Ten properties are on the list to be addressed this year either by the owners or by the city.

Share Medical Center is enrolling in a federal program that will monetarily benefit the hospital as well as participating nursing homes. Although the Alva Hospital Authority (AHA) doesn't require the city's permission to proceed, the board thought it best to include the Alva City Council in the process.

AHA Chairman Jason Gaisford spoke to the council Tuesday evening, Feb. 21, about participation in the Oklahoma Health Care Authority Medicaid UPL nursing home program.
