Freedom school board has contested election

 


The Freedom school board opened their Feb. 21 meeting by swearing in two new members taking the oath of office. Don Simmons and Robert Babcock read the oath out loud (see video of them doing this at www.AlvaReviewCourier.com under videos tab).

One other election race, between Raul Galindo and Shane Morris, had not been certified by the time of the board meeting. The next day, the district court judge ruled that a new election will need to be held for that seat.

The third item was to elect officers by “realignment” of the board of education. A motion was made to “leave it the same.” This motion...
