Cooking for Kids comes to Alva

Jarin Shirley, Kory Faulkner, Joe Parsons and Dalton Marteney participated in the Cooking for Kids contest on Feb. 28. These kids had the opportunity to cook main courses for a panel of three judges in hopes of having their recipes put on menu for the school cafeteria in April. Each dish was evaluated on a scale of one to five, five being the highest, on plate presentation, overall taste, overall healthiness, and how easy it is to duplicate. The chef of the winning dish receives a basket from the Cooking for Kids program along with having their dish prepared as a school lunch.
