As we saw previously, I had a brief encounter with country singer Holly Dunn at the Reno, Nevada, airport in 1990.

Then, one of my Northwestern Oklahoma State University colleagues and I got to see her in concert (after which we received autographed photos of her, thanks to the efforts of an employee of the hotel where we were staying and Holly was performing).

But we failed in our attempts to meet her and chit-chat with her for a minute or two.

In the meantime, we had an academic conference to attend – and we concentrated on that during the remainder of the two or three days we were there.
