South Barber Chieftains to state basketball tourney Thursday in Hays

• Pep rally Wednesday 3 p.m. – Send-off Thursday 9:45 a.m. – Game 4:45 p.m.

 


Since the existence of South Barber High School in Kiowa, Kansas, in 1974, only two boys basketball teams have made it to state until now, according to coaches. That was in 2002 and 2011 when the team reportedly placed fourth.

The 2017 South Barber Chieftains are headed to state Thursday at Hays in the KSHAA Boys Class 1A Division I Basketball Championship. They play at 4:45 p.m., at the Fort Hays State University Coliseum.
