Tigers down Rangers in finale; Northwestern takes series, 3-1

HAYS, Kan. — The Rangers traveled to Fort Hays, Kansas, for a non-conference bout with the Tigers of Fort Hays State looking to get back into the win column, but came away with the loss, 5-0.

The Rangers could not get the bats going much in this one, only accumulating four hits. Greg Carrington led all hitters with two hits followed by Nathan Kane and Jorin Van Amstel, who each had one hit.

Starter Thomas Sander went 5.2 innings facing 23 batters. Sander allowed two runs on five hits with two walks and one strike out. His day would end after loading the bases in the bottom of the sixth inning....
