Some apartments at Buena Vista in Alva had to be evacuated when local authorities learned an armed suspect was probably hiding out there. A tip from a confidential source to Woods County Sheriff’s Deputy Adam Honeyman, about 5 p.m. Sunday, March 12, led law enforcement officers to the apartment complex.

Deputy Honeyman was told that Joshua Calvin Fishburn was wanted on felony warrants in Kay County and had been involved in a shootout with bounty hunters near the Cowboy Travel Plaza near Stillwater in Payne County. He was told Fishburn was staying in Sandra Holcombe’s apartment in Alva.
