"I love politics, and I love the city of Alva. It's a great place to live. It's done so much for us through the years, and so it's time for me to give back."

Mary Hamilton is a local businesswoman and retired teacher who has lived in Alva for many years, working for 40 years in the Alva School District, and now running Alva's Market with her husband, Randy. Her entire family holds Northwestern degrees and she supports the college.

Hamilton said she wants voters to know that she doesn't have an agenda, she "just wants to do what's best for Alva."
