No CDBG grant for Alva

• City revenue 14 percent below budgeted amount

The City of Alva received disappointing news about a grant application to help pay for updating the water system. Business Manager Joe Don Dunham told the city council March 20 that Alva didn’t qualify for a CDBG grant in the amount of $450,000.

Dunham said the problem was in the number of surveys returned by citizens. The city was given a list of 350 random addresses for income surveys by OEDA who administers the grants.
