Earnest throws shutout win in the Goldbugs win against Woodward

Stanton Earnest had a great performance on the mound against the Woodward Boomers on Friday as he allowed no runs and only three hits in Alva's 9-0 shutout victory.

The Alva Goldbugs had an early rally in the bottom half of the first inning to get a commanding lead over the Boomers. After a lead off line drive from T.W. Beiswanger, the Goldbugs plated their first run off a double line drive from Jacob Faulkner to center field. The Goldbugs plated four more runs before Woodward could close that inning to give Alva a 5-0 lead.

Though Alva's offense slowed considerably in the next three inning...
