Interview with candidate Keith Solomon, Waynoka City Council Ward 1, Seat 2

March 29, 2017

"My only goal is to make this community a safe and strong place for them (his children) to live in, as well as for everyone else"

Keith Solomon, a married father of four children, is a clerk at a convenience store in Waynoka. He has lived in Waynoka for 15 years, previously working as a CNA at a local nursing home and in the oilfield for many years.

Solomon has also been a local volunteer firefighter for 10 years and is passionate about his service. "I am proud to serve with such a great group of men and women," he said. He decided to run for city office because he is "very passionate about politics" and wanted to get involved on a local level.

Solomon said he believes the issues in Waynoka are the infrastructure and the way tourism is approached. "We are fortunate enough to have Little Sahara in our backyard and I would like for us to become more tourist friendly as to generate revenue for our local businesses and the community as a whole."

Solomon stated that he is passionate about programs that benefit the children of the Waynoka community and, as a father himself, would like to see more youth activities in Waynoka.

He said his lack of business and personal interests set him apart as a candidate and that he will be able to bring fresh ideas to the council. "All decisions made will be with the entire community's well-being in mind," he said.

He said the community can come together to find solutions that will work for everyone and have benefits for the community as a whole. "This is my goal and I would be honored to have the chance to serve the community that has given so much to me and my family," Solomon said.
