Oklahoma prison population report

Statistics distributed at the Department of Corrections meeting in Alva earlier this week showed that the prison population is down by about 5 percent. The population last year at this time was 28,093, with 2,976 females and 25,117 males.

At the end of February 2017, the total number dropped to 26,578, with 23,600 males and 2,978 females. The number of females in prison is up 2, while the number of males in prison is down 1,517.
