A Civil War story – Part 2

As we saw previously, the Civil War had a devastating effect upon many people in the United States including one particular Tennessee family.

At the beginning of the war the family was intact and in good economic shape. By the time the war ended, everything had changed for the worse.

This family included three teenage sons. Soon after the war started the two oldest, William Daniel (known as “Bill”) and James Duncan (known as “Jim”), joined the army of the Confederate States of America.
