Spiritually Speaking
Dean Kilmer to speak at College Hill Church of Christ this weekend
March 31, 2017
I did so well in my study of the Greek language in college that they invited me to take it again. There are a few words that have remained in my memory, though. My favorite is the word “euongelizomai” (u-on-gay-leetz-oh-my). It means something like “I preach the good news.” I regularly remind the Family at College Hill just how grateful I am to God and to them that I get to stand up front each week and share the good news with the group. It is a huge honor and I love filling that role in the Body of Christ.
This week, however, I will not be “filling” the pulpit at College Hill. Instead, we will be sitting at the feet of a Goldbug made good. Some of you may have grown up with our speaker or even heard him speak during his many years as a minister, but we want to offer you a special opportunity to join us, this weekend, to enjoy his God-given wisdom and insight once again. His major topic for the weekend will be church growth and outreach.
Dean Kilmer is a 1967 graduate of Alva High School. He also is a graduate of Harding University and has a masters degree from Abilene Christian University. He lives in Waxahachie Texas where he serves the Brown Street Church of Christ. He is the chairman of the board of directors for the Moral Courage Foundation, which provides college scholarships for students who live by Biblical moral principles.
Dean is also the author of two books: “Igniting the Moral Courage of America” and, his most recent, “Soaring Above the Circumstances.” This book is designed to encourage and inspire the 171,000 million Americans who live with continuous stress or chronic illness. Dean also does motivational speaking and church growth seminars though out the southern and central United States.
