Reddies Baseball Drops Midweek Affair with Arkansas Tech 10-3

 


Arkansas Tech combined for seven runs in the final three innings to beat Henderson State 10-3, Tuesday at Clyde Berry Field in Arkadelphia.

The Wonder Boys, 22-13 on the season, collected 15 hits including six for extra-bases with Cody Wescott having two home runs and four runs batted in to lead ATU.

Henderson State, 19-13,compiled eight hits in the contest with Jordan Taylor going 2-for-4 with a double and a RBI.

Nolan Ryan also had a solid day at the plate finishing 2-for-2 with a walk and a run scored.

The Reddies used three pitchers with Austin Cross getting the start. The freshman from Ashdown, Ark. pitched 6 innings giving up five runs on eight hits in the loss.

Nate Ruterford pitched six innings for ATU in picking up the win to improve to 1-1. Ruterford allowed three runs on eight hits while striking out five.

Henderson State will travel to Conway, Ark. on Wednesday to take on Central Baptist with first pitch set for 6 p.m.
