Tigers fall to Delta State

 


ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – The Ouachita Tigers' baseball team (11-24) was shut out by Delta State (26-8) in non-conference play Tuesday night. The Statesmen won by a final score of 10-0.

Sheldon McCown was the starting pitcher for the Tigers. He pitched into the third inning and struck out two batters. Hunter McDade and Jayme Lovelace relieved McCown and did not allow a single run. Ryan Hammer and J.D. Speed had two hits each for the Tigers.

All 10 runs for the Statesmen were hit in the first three innings. Seven runs were scored in the third inning.

The Tigers will resume conference play this weekend with a series in Montecello against UAM. The first game will be played on Friday, April 7, at 2 p.m.
