Alva City Council will have one new member

• Six councilmembers, treasurer begin new terms

 


Daniel Winters, Bo Hannaford and Mary Hamilton won seats on the Alva City Council in Tuesday’s election. All were already serving on the council. Hannaford’s seat is for a full four-year term. Winters and Hamilton were appointed to the council following resignations, and they were running for the remaining two-year unexpired terms.

The council will have one new member. Brian Wallis was the only person filing for Ward 1 Seat 1 for a four-year term. He will replace Steve Valencia who chose not to file for the position.
