EUFAULA, Okla. (AP) — Skeletal remains believed to be human have been found in eastern Oklahoma.

Eufaula Police Chief Don Murray told reporters that a mushroom hunter found what appears to be a human bone in a wooded area north of Eufaula.

Murray said officers investigating the report Sunday afternoon found additional remains and the case is being investigated as a homicide.

Murray said the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation and the state medical examiner's office were called for assistance.
