The Burlington boys' and girls' track teams have started their 2017 season.

The high school and junior high both competed at Medford on April 8. The placings for high school included:

Anna Motycka, who was first in 100 meter dash and second in both 200 meter dash and long jump, and Kutter Jewell, who placed sixth in the 110 meter high hurdles. Placing in the junior high were Kayli Stewart, who was third in the 200 meter dash, fourth in the triple jump and fifth in the 400 meter run; Savannah Granados, who was second in the 200 meter dash, fourth in the 400 meter run and fifth in the 100 meter dash; Karlie Heatherman, who was second in the 800 meter run, third in the 1600 meter run and fifth in the long jump; McKenzie Olson, who was second in the 200 meter hurdles and fifthth in the 75 meter hurdles; Nancy Klippenstein, who was first in the high jump, second in the triple jump and sixth in the long jump; Kayla Highfill, who was third in the high jump and sixth in the long jump.


The team of Savannah Granados, Karlie Heatherman, Nancy Klippenstein and Kayli Stewart placed first in the 4x100 relay. Jared Peffly placed third in the 200 meter dash and fourth in the discus. Johnny Peters placed sixth in the 75 meter hurdles and sixth in the 200 meter dash. Jackson Feely placed third in the high jump and Gatlin Jewell placed fifth in the discus.

The seventh grade boys team, including Jackson Feely, Gatlin Jewell, Johnny Peters and Jared Peffly, placed second in the 400 relay and third in the 800 relay. In eighth grade, Rory Olson placed third in the 800 meter run, fourth in the 200 meter dash, and sixth in the 400 meter dash. David Cairns placed sixth in the shot put and discus. Kyler Gardner fifth in the 75 meter hurdles and fourth in the high jump. Kade Wright placed fifth in the discus. Paden Allen received third in the high jump. The eighth grade team, consisting of Caleb Cox, Rory Olson, Paden Allen, Kyler Gardner, placed third in the 800 medley relay.
