Two city hearings Monday

• Dilapidated property and utility rates

There will be a lot of oaths Monday night as Alva city officials are sworn in following the April 4 municipal election. The council will hold a public hearing on property at 722 Choctaw on whether or not to declare it dilapidated and constituting a detriment or hazard.

The Alva City Council will meet at 6:30 p.m. April 17 in the council chambers at City Hall.

The council will take a vote to receive the official election returns and will also acknowledge the unopposed filings.
