Twenty-two point-scoring performances lead Muleriders to Runner-Up finish at 2017 GAC Championships

SEARCY, Ark. – Junior sprinter Quincy Flowers won the 200 meter event and finished in second place in the 100 meter by a slim .01 seconds as he totaled 18 points, while 20 additional point-scoring performances led the Muleriders to a Runner-Up finish at the 2017 Great American Conference Track and Field Championships on Saturday afternoon at Ted Lloyd Track.

Southern Arkansas totaled 152 points and finished behind Harding which captured the league title for the second straight season by tallying 229 points. Oklahoma Christian finished in third place with 98 points and edged out Rogers State which finished with 97 points. Southern Nazarene (48) and East Central (28) finished fifth and sixth, respectively.

Marcus Brown was the top point-scoring finisher in the long jump event as he finished second overall and led four other Muleriders that earned points in the event. The SAU Men totaled 25 points in the event.


Seven Muleriders recorded personal bests in events on Saturday. Of the 22 point-scoring finishes, 13 Muleriders recorded top-five placements.
