South Barber earns Superior ratings at state music festival

South Barber High School music students earned five Superior (I) ratings at the Kansas State Music Festival last Saturday.
Vocal soloists Joseph Bowden, Kolby Pavlu and exchange student “Guy” Thongmeesang all received I ratings. Playing the tuba, Bowden received a I on his solo. Pavlu received a I on his trumpet solo. South Barber's Men's Ensemble received an Excellent (II) rating. Members were: Bowden, Pavlu, Thongmeesang and Nick Malone.
Boram Shin is the K-12 vocal teacher at SBHS. Jill Daughhetee is band director....
