T-hangar access road, lighting on airport agenda

Much of the agenda for the Alva Airport Commission meeting Monday is related to aircraft hangars. The commission meets at 7 p.m. in the airport terminal building.

First the board will hear a report on operations from the airport manager as well as a report from the city council. There will be discussion and action on the recommendation of a fiscal year 2017-2018 operating budget to go the City of Alva. The city is in the process of preparing next year’s budget. There will also be discussion and action on annual purchasing limits for the airport fund.

An access road to 3093 College, the new T-hangar building, will be up for discussion and a vote. There will also be discussion and action on installation of outside lighting for the new T-hangar building.

Phil Prigmore has requested permission to modify new T-hangar No. 6. There will be discussion and a vote on that request.

Max McDermott has asked for a time extension to purchase a new airplane. Airport policy requires that a leased hangar space must house an aircraft and sets limits on the time allowed without an airplane.

The construction of a new east-west turf runway uses some airport land previously leased for raising agricultural crops. The commission will discuss and act on a settlement agreement for returned rent and damages to the crop due to the construction.

There will be a closed executive session for the annual evaluation of Airport Manager Greg Murray. When the commission returns to open session, they may take action on that evaluation.
