Tigers eliminated from tournament following loss in Magnolia

ARKADELPHIA, Ark. - The Ouachita Tigers' baseball team saw their season come to a close on Saturday following a 14-2 postseason loss to Southern Arkansas University in Magnolia, Ark. The Tigers finish their season with a record of 16-35. Justin Weigle went 2-4 on the day, including his seventh homerun of the season.

The Tigers faced an uphill battle after finding themselves down 7-0 after two innings of play. Weigle's solo homerun in the top of the third inning got Ouachita on the scoreboard. Ouachita cut the Mulerider lead to five in the top of the fourth when Austin White scored on Ty Owen's sacrifice fly. SAU answered with three runs in the bottom of the fourth inning and added four more to their lead in the bottom of the sixth.

The Tigers used five pitchers in the game. Hunter McDade and Jayme Lovelace combined to hold the Muleriders hitless in the final two innings of the game.
