Verleta Eckels named state Director of the Year for School Nutrition Association

Verleta Eckels, foods service manager for the Alva Public Schools, has been named state Director of the Year for School Nutrition Association.
The food service director for the Alva Public Schools was honored recently by being named Director of the Year for the School Nutrition Association. This is the second high honor for Eckels. A few years ago, in 2013-14, she was voted president of the School Nutrition Association and traveled to Boston to receive her award. She said, "I haven't been to a national convention since, although I will be receiving an award at the Atlanta National School Nutrition Conference."
