Bison Ward Off Warner

 


MOBILE, Ala. – Oklahoma Baptist started pool play at the NCCAA Men's Tennis Championship Tuesday with a 5-1 win over Warner.

OBU took a 2-1 lead after doubles with Thomas Ackerknecht and Luis Romero taking No. 2 doubles 8-4 and Lucas Castelo Branco and Matias Le Fort grabbing an 8-3 win at No. 3 doubles.

Ackerknecht won at No. 6 singles via injury after taking a 6-1, 3-0 lead. Kevin Andrusch won at No. 1 singles, 6-2, 6-0, and Le Fort claimed a No. 4 singles victory, 6-0, 6-1.

The Bison were leading the unfinished singles matches.

Now 22-5, the Bison continue pool play at 2:30 p.m. against Dal...
