The Woods County 4-H Food Showdown Contest is modeled after such competitions as the Food Network's "Chopped" or "Chopped Jr." television shows, and it challenges teams of 4-H members to create a dish from either a clue, recipe or inspiration recipe, depending on the age level, using predetermined ingredients from a common pantry. From these ingredients, team members must use their food and nutrition knowledge, creativity and leadership skills to prepare a dish and presentation for judges within a 40-minute time period.
