Texas oil storage tank fire forces evacuations, nobody hurt

BEACH CITY, Texas (AP) — Authorities say a fire at a crude oil tank farm near Houston led to the evacuation of about 100 homes but nobody was hurt and the order was lifted by dawn.
The Chambers County Sheriff's Office says the fire broke out around 4:30 a.m. Friday at an oil storage complex near Beach City, about 30 miles (48 kilometers) east of Houston. Investigators are trying to determine whether lightning struck one of the tanks amid thunderstorms in the area.
The evacuation order, affecting homes within a half-mile of the tank farm, was canceled about three hours after the fire broke out...
