Bison Trim Tigers, 3-1

 


MCPHERSON, Kan. – Oklahoma Baptist made the most of two hits, claiming a 3-1 win over host Central Christian in the NCCAA Central Region Tournament Thursday.

The Bison fell behind 1-0 in the third but Zane Gelphman scored on a wild pitch and Austin Cooper scored on a sacrifice fly for a 2-1 lead in the fourth.

Gelphman homered in the fifth for the final margin.

Zach Fowler pitched the first 3.1 innings, striking out five, and Tyler Gibson got the win with 3.2 innings of scoreless relief, fanning six batters.

The Bison play Randall at 5 p.m. and Central Baptist at 7:30 p.m., Friday....
