AHS choirs clean out Tri-State

On May 4 and 5, the Alva High School vocal program competed at the tri-state vocal contest in Enid. AHS brought their songs from district and state choir contests. Solos, ensembles, a jazz choir and Electric Gold also performed. There were many soloists and students who took part in ensembles, and a lot of them received superior ratings while some received excellent. The treble, tenor/bass, mixed, EG and jazz choirs received superior ratings.

The AHS choirs brought home 3A Sweepstakes, Grand Sweepstakes and Outstanding Mixed Choir.

“We have never been to that competition, but it was a great experience and I would love to go again,” stated junior EG member Alaina Hurst. This was their last competition of the 2016-2017 school year.
