Ronnie Truelock, manager of the Alva Farmer's Co-op, invited representatives of the Alva Fire Department and the Capron Fire Department to the downtown office Monday, May 15, and presented $3,300 checks to each group.

Half of the funds come from a foundation operated by CoBank (a national cooperative bank) to match funds donated by the local co-op.

Alva Fire Chief Kirk Trekell said this is about the fourth year in a row that CoBank and the Alva Farmer's Coop have joined together to make donations to the Alva Fire Department.
