Football releases 2017 schedule, season ticket information

The 2016 football season was full of familiarity with the entire coaching staff returning for their second season and improvement was seen in multiple areas including wins as well as certain statistical categories. This coming season, the Rangers will be looking to further their 2016 accomplishments and make a statement in the Great American Conference.

The 2017 schedule will comprise of 11 GAC foes, two of which were participants in last season's postseason play. The Rangers will have six home games this season.

It has become a tradition over the last several years for the season opening game to be played on a Thursday night, and this season will continue the tradition. The following week will see the Rangers hit the road for a game with cross-state foe, East Central where kickoff will commence at 2 p.m.

Northwestern will return home for one week against Harding at 2 p.m. before they will travel for two consecutive weeks.

The first of the two road games will take place in Russellville, where the Rangers will look to get payback on the Wonder Boys of Arkansas Tech in a 2 p.m. showdown. The following week on Oct. 28, the Rangers will head to Bethany, Oklahoma, to take the field with Southern Nazarene in a 4 p.m. game.
