The Alva FFA fishing tournament was held May 20. We had 17 teams that competed in the tournament. The FFA chapter raised a total of $1,295, with $300 of it being used as cash prizes to our first- and second-place winners.
The first-place winners were Bobby Bettencourt and Kadee Walcott with a 22-pound stringer of four bass. The second-place winners were Stanton Earnest and Ethan Nelson with an 18-pound stringer of four bass.
The remaining $995 will be split up among local fire departments. Numerous door prizes were donated by community businesses....
