Courtney Mapes of Alva has completed three years as an Academic All-State Alumna mentor, providing academic support and encouragement to a student in Stillwater. Mapes followed her mentee from Sangre Ridge Elementary to Stillwater Middle School.

Mapes has also accepted the volunteer position of Boren Mentoring Initiative Liaison at Oklahoma State University in 2017-18. Among her duties will be planning the All-State Alumni mini-reunion, recruiting mentors at OSU, assisting and encouraging those mentors, and advising the mentoring program from a college student's perspective.
