Eighteen members of the Xi Gamma Nu chapter met May 11 in the home of Joyce Bender. Becky Marshall served as co-hostess, and Angel Reid provided the lesson: a tribute to mothers. Secretary Ida Evans read the minutes of the previous meeting and a thank you note from Kathleen Reed for being voted Woman of the Year. Angel Reid read a humorous, thought-provoking essay by Erma Bombeck entitled “Turning into your Mother,” which served as an apt introduction for each member to share both poignant and humorous stories about their mothers.
