Memorial Day observed with reverence in Kiowa

Yvonne Miller

WE WILL NEVER FORGET THE SACRIFICE – This scene from Kiowa (Kansas) Riverview Cemetery's Memorial Day service has all the traditions of the day across the nation: prayers, the playing of "Taps," a 21 gun salute, and everyone gathering to remember those who served and are serving the United States of America in the miltary. Gratitude and heartfelt thank yous are expressed to those soldiers who made the ultimate sacrifice: dying so that Americans can live in a democracy and enjoy liberty. The greatest gift Americans can give to those who died is to never forget them or for what and why they fought. May God bless America.
