Memorial Day flags and flowers show remembrance of those who went before at the Freedom Cemetery.

The people of Freedom observe those who have passed. The Freedom Cemetery and Fairvalley Cemetery were decorated in remembrance of many loved ones.

The holiday began (over 150 years ago) as Decoration Day in order to remember those who died during the Civil War; eventually the scope was widened to encompass all wars.

Memorial Day is a day to honor those courageous men and women who have given the ultimate sacrifice to provide freedom to all who live here in the United States.
