Girl Scouts learn CPR

Seven Girl Scouts got re-certified with American Red Cross in first aid and CPR training. Certification is good for two years. There were quite a few changes in training from two years ago. They have added a lot to the general instructions, like car seat safety, inhalers and epi pens. They are still teaching 30 compressions and two breaths as the official way to perform CPR. New this year was learning how to do buddy CPR. One scout performs the 30 compressions and the other does the two breaths. Pictured practicing are Eralynn Moreno, Isabella Stout, Christian McKinley and Ruth Anne Fox. Amanda Kutz is the instructor checking to make sure everyone is practicing correctly. Attending but not pictured were Bridget Wilhite, Amber Wilhite and Judy Neilson.
