Oil company cited for improper drilling in Colorado

 


DENVER (AP) — A Texas oil company entangled in a dispute over leases to drill in Colorado was hit with three federal "non-compliance" notices for improper drilling that led to a spill.

The Denver Post reported (http://dpo.st/2u85zQq ) Sunday Bureau of Land Management officials ordered SG Interests to stop drilling and clean up spilled foam chemicals, wastewater and drill cuttings.

SG Interests' crew was drilling under a valid lease on land in western Colorado, tapping gas resources in the Bull Mountain area. But BLM spokesman Steven Hall says the company's permit required capture of all waste....
