Tourism tax funding requests approved

 


Citing decreasing tourism tax funds, the City of Alva Tourism Tax Commission reduced funding requests from two organizations at their Wednesday, June 21, meeting.

When going over the financial report for May, Dr. Charles Tucker commented that the $88,310 promised to organizations but not yet paid out was about equal to the $76,000 shown as revenue during the first quarter of the year.

Chairman Norville Ritter said the commission has been asked for money for “a lot of good projects lately.”
