Alva Church of God

Sunday school begins at 9:30 a.m. and worship at 10:30 a.m. Alva Church of God is located at 517 Ninth St. in Alva, and can be found on the web at http://www.AlvaChurchOfGod.org.

Alva Friends Church

Sunday school begins at 9:30 a.m .; coffee and donut fellowship at 10:10 a.m .; worship at 10:30 a.m. Alva Friends Church is on the corner of College Avenue and Center Street.

Avard Christian Church

Sunday services are from 2-4 p.m. Avard Christian Church is 7 miles west of Alva on Highway 64 and 7 miles south on County Road 370, or 6 miles south on Highway 281 and 7 miles west on Garvin Rd. Barnes Street Church of Christ

Bible Baptist Church

Sunday, July 2: Sunday school begins at 10 a.m. There are graded classes for children, a teen class and two adult classes. Our worship service starts at 11 a.m. We are continuing our Pillars of Faith sermon series as we look at Elijah. Teen Impact meets at 5 p.m. Evening service will start at 6 p.m.

Tuesday, July 4: Celebrate Recovery meets on Tuesday nights at 6:30–8:30 p.m. Celebrate Recovery is a Christ-based recovery program to help provide a safe place to discover a Savior who can give freedom from hang ups, hurts and habits. Everyone is invited to attend.

Wednesday, July 5: Prayer and Bible study will be at 7 p.m.

Monday–Friday, July 24–28: Annual Youth Week – Vacation Bible School is held nightly from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Our theme this year is “Camp Discovery.” All chilren from pre-K to fifth grade (this fall) are invited to attend. We will have enrollment July 23, 2–4 p.m.

As always, transportation and nurseries are available for all services. We look forward to having you and your family visit us this Sunday!

Cedar Grove Wesleyan Church

College Hill Church of Christ

Sunday Bible class for all ages begins at 9:30 a.m. and worship begins at 10:30 a.m. Following the weekly fellowship lunch, the afternoon service will begin at 12:45 p.m. Don't miss a Sunday with our great Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ!

Dacoma United Methodist Church

Adult Sunday school is held from 8:15-8:45 a.m. Fellowship coffee and doughnuts are at 8:45-9 a.m. Worship service is from 9-10 a.m. At noon is lunch at the church.

First Assembly of God

First Baptist Church

Sunday school at 9:15 a.m. is followed by morning worship at 10:30 a.m. The choir will rehearse at 5:30 p.m.

First Christian Church

Sunday, July 2: Sunday school begins at 9:30 a.m. (On Fifth Sundays, we have a breakfast here at the church during this time.) Worship begins at 10:30 a.m., as does Worship and Wonder for children over 4 years of age; nursery is provided for children under age 4. Pastor Ron Pingelton will preach “Hope for America,” based on 2 Chronicles 7:14-20.

Elders: Mike Meier (scripture reader, serving at Beadles) and Kevin Pingelton (lay leader, serving at Share). Deacons: Brooke Pingelton (counter, serving at Beadles), Mel Stout (greeter, serving at Share), April Argo (captain), Devon Cushenbery (greeter).

Doris Roberts will teach Sunday school. Carly Williams and Tricia Coday will be in the nursery. Kevin Pingelton will do the Children's Moments. Connie and Philip Anton will run video and sound.

Monday, July 3: Quilting group begins at 6:30 p.m.

Wednesday, July 5: Adult Bible study and children's choir practice begin at 6 p.m. Adult choir practice starts at 6:30 p.m.

July 16 – July 19: First Christian Church Camp will be held at Boiling Springs State Park. Ages 7 and up and welcome. Please contact the church office for more information at 327-0194.

First Presbyterian Church

Sunday, July 2: The ushers are Cris and Lydia Campbell, Jason Wickham and Cindy Self. The liturgist is Ida Evans. Rev. Dr. Deborah reen will preach “Ordinary Giants,” based on Genesis 21:8-21. 1 Samuel a:1a, 4-11, 19-23, 32-39.

Wednesday, July 5: Potluck fellowship dinner at 6:30 p.m.

We welcome our new pastor, Sarah Chivington-Buck, to the Alva First Presbyterian Church and to the Alva community. Her first Sunday here will be July 9.

First United Methodist Church

Sunday, July 2: Sunday school classes begin at 9:30 a.m. At 10:30 a.m. is our worship service. Guest speaker is Oklahoma Cimarron District Superintendent Charlie Graves. Liturgist is Larry Thorne. Ushers are David and Dana Manning, Ed and Sheila Short, Fred Neuman, Greg Dietz.

Monday, July 3: Senior high youth leave for CYME camp at Tahlequah; they will return Friday.

Tuesday, July 4: Fourth of July; church office closed.

Wednesday, July 5: Leap Into Health wellness group, led by Dr. Liz Kinzie, meets each Wednesday in the church parlor at 6:30 p.m.

Friday, July 6: Church office closed Fridays this summer.

Hopeton Church

Hopeton: a non-typical church! You don't have to dress in a suit to be accepted; you can wear your jeans, get a cup of coffee, and enjoy contemporary music, great videos, and a relevant message.

Hopeton Church meets at 10 a.m. at the main campus in Hopeton, just a few short miles south of Alva on 281. Coffee bar begins at 9:30 a.m. in the new children's wing. We have something for every age: nursery, children, teens, adults, women's support groups, and adult small H.O.M.E. groups for fellowship.

eXtreme Youth Center

Sixth-grade to 12th-grade students are invited to come to this fun place to hang out after school and through the summer. The eXtreme is under the direction of youth pastor Stony Kalonga. Sumer hours at the eXtreme are 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Town and Country Christian Church

Sunday, July 2: Sunday school for all ages will begin at 9:30 a.m. The adult Sunday school class lesson is “Moses,” from Exodus 3:1-12. At 10:30 a.m. worship service will begin. Neal Gordon will bring the communion meditation. Justin Lau and Clark Schultz will serve communion. Children's Church: Cherie Lau or Anita Jacobson. Pastor Paul Cole will bring the message.

Tuesday, July 4: Town and Country Saints at 7 p.m.

Wednesday, July 5: Youth Group will be from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

July 9-13: Vacation Bible School (Barnyard Roundup: “Jesus Gathers Us Together.”) Begins Sunday, July 9, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. The missionaries will be Tom and Sandie Killian of Mercy Partners (South Sudan, Africa).

Zion Lutheran Church

Rev. Aaron Wagner is the pastor of Zion Lutheran Church (Missouri Synod) at Third and Maple.

Sundays: Divine Worship starts at 10:30 a.m. with Holy Communion twice monthly. During Advent and Lent, Zion holds Wednesday services at 7 p.m. Weekday School (grades 3-6) meets at 3:30 p.m.

Weekly meetings: Handbells practice (Mondays at 5 p.m.), confirmation class for grades 7 and 8 (Wednesdays at 5 p.m.).

Monthly meetings: youth group, Seasoned Saints (third Tuesday at 1 p.m.), Ruth Circle (first Monday at noon), Lutheran Women's Missionary League (first Tuesday at 6 p.m.).

The Lutheran Early Care and Education Center (327-1318) offers care for children as young as six weeks old, as well as an after-school program.

Vacation Bible School will be May 22–25, 9–11:30 a.m.
