Oklahoma AG sues drug manufacturers over opioid addiction

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — Oklahoma Attorney General Mike Hunter on Friday sued more than a dozen manufacturers of opioid pain medication, alleging that deceptive marketing campaigns by the drugmakers have fueled the state's opioid epidemic.
The lawsuit alleges the manufacturers "executed massive and unprecedented marketing campaigns through which they misrepresented the risks of addiction from their opioids and touted unsubstantiated benefits."
